Your support period is based on your dietitian’s assessment and your medical team’s advice. Nutrition support cannot guarantee conception or assisted reproduction outcomes.

7 questions · select a question to see the answer

When should I see a dietitian before trying to conceive?

Ideally three to six months before, which allows time to adjust your eating and habits gradually. You can still start at any stage, including if you are already trying or having treatment.

Do I need folic acid and iodine?

Australian guidelines generally recommend folic acid and iodine supplements before and during pregnancy, but the right product and dose depend on your health history. We will review your intake and supplements, and you should confirm what to take with your GP or fertility specialist.

What should I focus on if I have PCOS?

There is no single ‘PCOS diet’ that suits everyone. International guidelines support a balanced, sustainable eating pattern that fits your preferences, together with physical activity. We tailor this to your test results, weight goals and routine, in line with your doctor’s advice.

Can I see a dietitian before IVF or embryo transfer?

Yes. We can support your eating before and during treatment, in line with your fertility team’s advice. We do not make any promises about treatment outcomes.

My weight is above the healthy range. Should I focus on eating first?

It is a reasonable place to start. We look at your current eating and routine and set gradual, sustainable changes that also meet your preconception nutrition needs, rather than restrictive dieting.

Can I get a refund or pause my program?

Yes. If you are unable to continue because of your health, work, family or other personal reasons, you can contact us at any time to end your program early. Fees for services already provided as agreed are not refundable. We will calculate and refund the remaining unused service fees based on the agreed package price and our service records, less a cancellation processing fee of no more than 15% of the unused amount. The initial nutrition assessment is always free, whether or not you continue with the service or request a refund.

If we cannot provide the agreed services or our services do not meet the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, we will provide a remedy, refund or other statutory remedy as required by law, and the cancellation processing fee will not apply. Your statutory consumer rights, including applicable cooling-off rights, are not limited.

To pause, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance in normal circumstances; sudden illness, hospitalisation and other emergencies are handled flexibly. Once your pause is confirmed, the paused period does not count towards your used service working days and your remaining service working days are carried forward. See our refund and suspension policy.

Can my partner join the preconception program?

Yes. Partners can join for an additional fee, with a partner discount that depends on the length of the program you choose. Contact us for details.
