Many children go through this. Offering foods repeatedly without pressure often helps, but it can take many tries. If your child eats a very narrow range of foods, or you are worried about growth or nutrition, an assessment can help you plan next steps.
See your GP first if your child’s growth curve has dropped or flattened, so they can check for medical causes. We can then support your child’s eating alongside their advice.
Keep offering a small amount of other foods next to familiar favourites, without pressure. A ‘parents provide, child decides’ approach can reduce mealtime battles. We help you plan meals that build variety gradually.
Aim for a mix of food groups, with water as the main drink, and check your school’s allergy policy. We will help with ideas your child is likely to eat.
We can help you plan balanced meals around allergies diagnosed by your doctor or allergist. Please do not remove foods from your child’s diet without medical advice.
